MittsommerRemise 2019

| by von der Lühe | (comments: 0)

Wow! The fine weather in May and June, was a great start to summer 2019 at Schloss Puetnitz! We had some amazingly sunny and warm days, (and balmy nights). All the better to host the MittsommerRemise 2019 - a chance for visitors and locals alike, to visit and tour Manor Houses in the Mecklenburgvorpommern district.

Held on the 22nd and 23rd of June this year, we could not have asked for better weather! As we are located in Vorpommern, Sunday 23rd was allocated to Manor Houses in our area. My husband Nik, myself together with our Manager Wolfgang and his wife Erica, were up bright and early to put our plans to work!

Erica and I prepared the lovely flowers picked fresh from the garden ... we especially wanted to decorate the individual tables for the afternoon tea! The flowers were picked in the cooler morning air, and kept in a cool place for later. Wolfgang was planning to smoke fish to serve to our lovely day guests - so lots of prep beforehand!

My lovely hubby Nik, was the Grillmeister! He decided to keep it simple. A local specialty of sausage and toast from the grill ( no buns allowed) was planned - we couldn’t resist to add some juicy pork chops, that we came across at the local market!

As the first round of guests ( 200 in all), finished their guided Manor House tour, they were delighted to self tour through the gardens to come upon our wonderful smoke fish and bbq ... do you think the yummy smells were the clue? On a summers day, what could be better than a smoked fish or sausage and an ice cold beer!

At 1:30, some of our guests were ready for tea, coffee and a slice of homemade cake! So much so, that we ran out before 4pm! Not to worry, we still had refreshments and a sausage or two left! Note to self - more cake needed for MittsommerRemise 2020!

Indeed, a fabulous start to a fabulous summer.
